Do you think you can make it?: OFWs kids’ educational journey in the Philippines

By: Evelyn L. Aguinaldo / Author / Investor / Cyber Real Estate Property Seller

Now that high school graduating students is on their final days in school - choosing accommodation for their continued educational journey in the Philippines is one daunting task – not only to those foreign students but to their OFW parent’s as well.

Traditionally, parents opt to entrust their siblings to their family members back home and continue working abroad in order to provide their family’s everyday need but often-times this kind of arrangements creates a rift between the provider (OFWs) and their counter-part (trustees) on how to perfectly handle the day-to-day activities of their charge.

In addition to those expert opinions on the subject and based on my frequent interaction with prospective condominium lessees, I came to know that the majority of the up-coming well-to-do students want to be independent and looking forward to a pad, they can call it “their own”. For those students with limited or marginal budget, sharing accommodation is their only option - the very reason why a lot of boarding houses dotted the university belt area for this purpose.

Even big and well-established condo developers join the bandwagon and continuously putting-up condo buildings, dormitories, and hostels near or around the university belt area to cater to the needs of this up-coming accommodation conscious clientele.

Some developers called it “CONDORMITEL” - a project that is operated as a condominium, dormitory and a hotel with a registration desk, cleaning services and more. The investor has the option to enroll their unit(s) to the property management operator for exclusive managements of their unit(s) or cyber manage it remotely as the case of some of my condo buyers abroad including myself.

Due to rental affordability of those University Towers condo units nowadays, 24/7 security, complete facilities the like of Wi-Fi enabled study rooms, wellness center, splashing pool, and jogging pathways – condo living is easily becoming a student first choice.

Everyday, thousands of renters use the net to search for rental properties, making rental business more profitable the like of the up-coming AurumOne project in Makati – a net is a tool for renters, property owners, property developers and prospective clientele to virtually connect online.

In this regard, property owners and developers invite you to feel right at home on their Web site - search as much as you want, whenever you want…FREE! Choose from thousands of available rental homes, apartments, and condos across the country particularly in the university belt area. You are only a click away from easily and conveniently selecting the home of your choice.

After finding the perfect rental home on-line, one has to visit the target place to personally, assess the unit and the facilities offered – if not, ask your friends or your nearest kin in the Philippines to do the same for you. Ask anything and everything about the rental property of your choice before entering to any agreements that lead you to your contract signing.

For those up-coming students: Good luck with your studies and happy accommodation searching.
